Ape Loves Haiti AlbumDate: 02/02/10
We folks at APE were moved, as i'm sure you all were, by the recent terrible events in Haiti. APE artist Jen Olive suggested that we organise something to help, so we are. We have put together a download album called APE LOVES HAITI, and all money from it will go to the DEC {disasters emergency committee} appeal.
All of our artists have contributed a track, with some real exclusives in there,including...
Milk and Honey Band,'LOVE' a track from a forthcoming project. Jen Olive 'FRANSCRAMS',a number from her forthcoming album Warm Robot. An exclusive Monstrance cut. A never before released live version of 'KING STRUT' from Peter Blegvad with Michael Penn's band. A very hot off the press number by The Clubmen,'GIVE ME YOUR WATER' from their debut album coming later this year.Irelands finest Pugwash with 'SONG FOR YOU' from the soon come expanded release of their Eleven Modern Antiquities album....and more.
The whole album will cost you only £5.00, but we are looking into how we can accept more money if you feel the human urge to donate more to this very worthy cause. Stay tuned as we hope to have it all ready for you, with full tracklisting, in about a week.

On the suggestion of a friend, I send a cd to Andy Partridge
This is whne I first learned how to play... early twenties... and that guitar back there is the same one I still play and also the one on the record :)
my ever changing moods... :)
snooze... (about me)
So...it goes like this:
I was born in Southern California , but I was raised pretty much everywhere from New York to L.A. My mom and dad were both musicians, nomadic by nature ... and both were certifiable... which is obviously genetic.
I loved music but refused lessons... I taught myself piano around age 4... clarinet at 8.... but the discovery of guitar around 19 was the major breakthrough.... I had learned classical pieces on piano but didn't really write songs. With the guitar tho, I started writing immediately. In fact, I only ever learned one cover song all the way through... and that was "Precious" by the Pretenders... I just had to say.... 'but not me baby, I'm too precious..Fuck Off!"
I played in a few bands in the beginning.... but by 25, I had definitely settled into a solo thing.
I played a lot of shows in a lot of places under a lot of different names, none of which I will reveal to you....hahah...I was very into the idea of anonymous music and things like that... I can't ruin it now :) However, I did sell a load of cassettes and cd's under all of these names... so maybe the past will come to haunt me someday.. ha!
On the advice of a friend, I sent a cd to one Mr.Andy Partridge in June of 2007... he called me up in July and the rest they say... is history... did I just say that? How clowny!
But that's the long and short of it all....
The record is set for release in March of 2010... and so begins the next chapter in the illustrious life of the woman (that would be me) now called, Jen Olive.
